John le Carré

John le Carré (1931–2020), born David Cornwell, was a British author renowned for his espionage novels. After working in British intelligence, he drew upon his experiences to create realistic and morally complex spy stories. His breakthrough novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, established him as a master of the genre. Other notable works include Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Constant Gardener. Le Carré’s novels explored Cold War politics, loyalty, betrayal, and human nature. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest spy novelists in literary history.
