Content Rights Policy

Reviews and commentary

Epiloguely publishes criticism, commentary, reporting and bibliographic information about books. Limited quotations or cover images may be used for identification, review or reporting where legally appropriate. Ownership remains with the respective rights holders.

Full-text files

Public reading, downloading and user upload of full-text files are disabled while source and rights records are reviewed. A full text may be made available only when there is reliable evidence that it is:

• in the public domain in the relevant jurisdiction;
• released under a licence that permits the intended distribution; or
• used with documented permission from the rights holder.

Verification records

Before restoring a full-text item, the site should retain the source URL, author, publication information, applicable licence or public-domain basis, verification date and any territorial limitations. Uncertainty must be resolved by withholding the file.

Cover images

Book covers are used to identify and discuss the reviewed work. We aim to use official publisher, author or bookseller sources and remove imagery when a valid rights concern is established.
